Next day in Barcelona; Al Otro Dia en Barcelona

Breakfast, Market, Flea Market, Laundry and Dinner

The next day we had breakfast across from Mercat del Clot. Our breakfast was very inexpensive and really good. Since we were across the Mercat del Clot we went in to see what they have to offer. The great thing about being in Barcelona is that you are able to find fresh food relatively easy. They have everything from your fresh produce, to fresh fish, to fresh poultry and nut, lot and lots of nuts. We walked down a block and we were at Parc del Clot. A park where you will see people walking their dogs, children playing, basketball courts and a peaceful setting to spend some time with you family and friends. Afterwards we went to the flea market. We walked to Mercat Fira de Bellcaire Els Encants. This flea market is located at Carrer de los Castillejos, 158, 08013 Barcelona. From where we were staying it was a 20 minutes walk. If you do go to this flea market, make sure you take good shoes, loose change (small denominations) and a will to bargain. Never buy anything for what they have it as you will be able to bargain. This place is huge (three stories) and it is packed with anything and everything you can imagine. You will have to dig as many things are just thrown on the floor and you will need lots of time of patience to look at everything. You will find from Freddy Mercury vinyls to fake Picasso paintings. There is also a food market. On our way back we went to Glòries Tower; we went in only to be disappointed that you cannot climb to the top. The Glòries Tower are offices; therefore, there is no access unless you work there. It is the tallest building in the city (but once the Sagrada Familia is finished, the Sagrada Familia will be the tallest) and its original name is Torre Agbar. It is located at Plaça de les Glòries. From far away it looks blue but close up it looks orange. Pretty cool. Once back to El Clot area we went to eat at Restaurant El Clot again. We had to eat the Chips de Berenjenas con Miel once more before we left Barcelona. I had mentioned this restaurant in a prior blog. I know that I will be eating here again next time I am in Barcelona. Before we headed to bed we decided to do our laundry and went to Lavandería Autoservicio KWL-AQUA. My suggestion is to take a good book (although they have books and magazine there) and make sure you have the correct change. The machines do not give change. There is no need to buy laundry detergent because it is included in the cost of the wash.

Desayuno, mercado, mercadillo, lavandería y cena.

Al día siguiente desayunamos frente al Mercat del Clot. Nuestro desayuno era muy barato y muy bueno. Como estábamos al lado del Mercat del Clot, fuimos a ver qué tenían para ofrecer. Lo mejor de estar en Barcelona es que puedes encontrar comida fresca relativamente fácil. Tienen de todo, desde sus productos frescos, hasta pescado fresco, hasta aves y nueces frescas, muchas y muchas nueces. Caminamos una cuadra y estábamos en el Parc del Clot. Un parque donde verá personas paseando a sus perros, niños jugando, canchas de baloncesto y un entorno tranquilo para pasar un tiempo con su familia y amigos. Luego fuimos al mercado de pulgas. Caminamos hasta Mercat Fira de Bellcaire Els Encants. Este mercadillo se encuentra en la calle de los Castillejos, 158, 08013 Barcelona. Desde donde estábamos alojados fue una caminata de 20 minutos. Si va a este mercado de pulgas, asegúrese de llevar buenos zapatos, cambio suelto (pequeñas denominaciones) y ganas de negociar. Nunca compre nada por el precio que tiene, ya que podrá regatear. Este lugar es enorme (tres pisos) y está repleto de todo lo que puedas imaginar. Tendrás que cavar ya que muchas cosas estan en al suelo y necesitarás mucho tiempo y paciencia para mirar todo. Encontrarás desde LPs de Freddy Mercury hasta cuadros falsos de Picasso. También hay una area de comida. En nuestro camino de regreso fuimos a la Torre Glòries; entramos solo para estar decepcionados de que no puedas subir a la cima. Las torres de Glòries son oficinas; por lo tanto, no hay acceso al menos que trabajes allí. Es el edificio más alto de la ciudad (pero una vez que la Sagrada Familia esté terminada, la Sagrada Familia será la más alta) y su nombre original es Torre Agbar. Se encuentra en Plaça de les Glòries. Desde lejos se ve azul pero de cerca se ve naranja. Muy genial. Una vez de vuelta a la zona de El Clot fuimos a comer al restaurante El Clot nuevamente. Tuvimos que comer Chips de Berenjenas con Miel una vez más antes de irnos de Barcelona. Había mencionado este restaurante en un blog anterior. Sé que volveré a comer aquí la próxima vez que esté en Barcelona. Antes de irnos a la cama, decidimos lavar la ropa y fuimos a Lavandería Autoservicio KWL-AQUA. Mi sugerencia es llevar un buen libro (aunque tienen libros y revistas allí) y asegurarse de tener el cambio correcto. Las máquinas no dan cambio. No es necesario comprar detergente para la ropa porque está incluido en el costo del lavado.
