Basque Country: France and Spain

We spent the 14 of July in Bayonne (we arrived late at night) so were unable to see it. When we woke up the next day, we saw the beauty of Bayonne. Our hotel was on a hill across the ocean next to the lighthouse. Bayonne is a city in the of southwest France. We walked the streets on Bayonne and visited the Bayonne Cathedral. It is a Gothic style cathedral with amazing, beautiful stained glass windows. Afterwards we headed to San Sebastian in Spain. San Sebastian is the third biggest city in Basque Country. We saw the beach and walked around the town. We had lunch and for 8 euros we had appetizer, entree, dessert and a bottle of wine. Afterwards we headed Bilbao. Bilbao is in Northern Spain and it is the largest city in Basque Country. In 1997 the Frank Gehry–designed Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opened. It is a beautiful city full of history and art. We ate dinner in Bilbao since our next stop was going to be a ways away at Tudela. We ate at a burger joint and it was delicious. Our drive to Tudela was around 2 hours and 20 minutes. The hotel was in the middle of nowhere but it was a very cute hotel. Very nicely decorated with spacious rooms.

Pasamos el 14 de julio en Bayona como llegamos tarde por la noche no pudimos ver mucho. Cuando nos despertamos al día siguiente, vimos la belleza de Bayona. Nuestro hotel estaba en una colina al otro lado del océano al lado del faro. Bayona es una ciudad en el suroeste de Francia. Caminamos por las calles de Bayona y visitamos la Catedral de Bayona. Es una catedral de estilo gótico con increíbles y hermosas vidrieras. Luego nos dirigimos a San Sebastián en España. San Sebastián es la tercera ciudad más grande del País Vasco. Vimos la playa y caminamos por la ciudad. Almorzamos y por 8 euros tuvimos aperitivo, plato principal, postre y una botella de vino. Luego nos dirigimos a Bilbao. Bilbao se encuentra en el norte de España y es la ciudad más grande del País Vasco. En 1997 se inauguró el Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, diseñado por Frank Gehry. Es una hermosa ciudad llena de historia y arte. Cenamos en Bilbao ya que nuestra próxima parada iba a estar muy lejos en Tudela. Comimos en un restaurante de hamburguesas y estaba delicioso. Nuestro viaje a Tudela fue de alrededor de 2 horas y 20 minutos. El hotel estaba en el medio de la nada, pero era un hotel muy lindo, muy bien decorada con amplias habitaciones.
