International Driving Permit

If you are planning on driving on your trip, you must first obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP). The IDP in conjunction with your valid U.S. driver’s license is used to drive outside of the US. 150 countries worldwide consider the IDP a valid form of identification. It contains your name, your photo and driver information. Inside this booklet, all of this information is translated in 10 languages. You can visit your nearest AAA office to acquire your IDP. You will need two passport photos (but AAA can also take this for you for an additional fee), a valid U.S. driver’s license and pay the fee (at the time of this post the fee was $20). Permiso Internacional de Conducir

S estas pensando en conducir durante tu viaje, debes obtener primero el Permiso Internacional de Conducir. Este permiso junto con tu licensia de conducir se utiliza para guiar fuera de EU. 150 paises mundiales consideran este permiso una forma valida de identificacion. Contiene tu nombre, tu foto y tu informacion de conductor. Dentro de el librito, toda la informacion es traducida a 10 lenguas diferentes. Puedes visitar tu AAA mas cercano para adquirir el permiso. Vas a necesitar dos fotos estilo pasaporte (si no las tienes, no te preocupes pues puedes sacarlas en AAA por un costo adicional), tu licensia de conducir y pagar (en el momento que escribi esto el costo era de $20).
